| Considera el proyecto, que la idea recogida en la simbología adoptada para la Bandera de la Provincia, además de resaltar la unidad con la incorporación de un estrella por cada uno de los 23 departamentos de la provincia, consolida la identidad al establecer el 8 de octubre para celebrarla.
El ministro de Hacienda, Javier David, destacó que "este proceso se inició cuando el Gobierno decidió crear la bandera de Salta en 1997. Ahora, hacía falta instituir un día en el cual todos expresemos ese sentimiento rindiéndole un homenaje, vistiendo a toda la provincia con los colores del poncho salteño". |
