| El 8 de octubre de 1814, como consecuencia de la guerra y un escenario de diferenciación individual de las provincias, Gervasio Antonio de Posadas, por decreto dispuso que las ciudades de Salta, Jujuy, Orán, Tarija y Santa María formarían una provincia del Estado que llevaría el nombre de Provincia de Salta, teniendo por límites las jurisdicciones respectivas de los mismos pueblos que la integraban, individualizándola de la Provincia de Tucumán.
En los fundamentos de la decisión adoptada por el entonces Director Supremo, fueron destacados los grandes esfuerzos y aportes realizados por Salta en la lucha por la Independencia, que tan gallarda y valientemente defendiera nuestro héroe Güemes y sus Infernales. |
October 8 of 1814, as consequence of the war and a scenario of individual differentiation of the counties, Gervasio Antonio de Posadas, for ordinance prepared that the cities of Salta, Jujuy, Orán, Tarija and Santa María would form a county of the State that would take the name of County of Salta, having for limits the respective jurisdictions of the same towns that integrated it, individualizing it of the County of Tucumán.
In the foundations of the decision adopted then by the Supreme Director, they were outstanding the big efforts and contributions carried out for Salta in the fight for the Independence that so gallant and courageously our hero defended Güemes and his Infernal ones. |
